Assistant Account Executive (onsite, hybrid)

The Assistant Account Executive supports multiple Account Directors to drive and carry out the execution of projects across the clients’ businesses.  This position supports the rest of the team in a manner that demonstrates a strong sense of urgency, an ability to be proactive and pay close attention to detail. Follow-up and organization are critical to earning the trust of the team, as is the need to manage multiple competing and changing priorities daily. An AAE must exhibit passion for the job and a willingness to learn and grow.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Builds trust in team members by taking initiative, responding quickly and accurately to requests from client and internal partners and demonstrating proactiveness

  • Compiles brand and category insight and regularly feeds to the team

  • Assists the broader integrated team, supporting multiple projects and clients

  • Compiles weekly status reports and contact reports within 24 hours

  • Assists in writing statements of work

  • Helps manage monthly billing, creates and tracks estimates

  • Builds and maintains project timelines with minimal oversight

  • Anticipates risks and flags scope or deadline concerns early

  • Drafts and proofs client-facing communication and presentation materials, as well as client deliverables

  • Manages multiple accounts and priorities across senior stakeholders

  • Provides general project initiation support (generating job #s, opening/populating folders on servers, adding to status, etc.)

  • Ensures deliverables move efficiently from brief through production

  • Effectively manages internal relationships, including relationships with project management and select clients

  • Schedules and coordinates meetings, internal and external; coordinates meeting agendas, note-taking and follow-up as needed

  • Communicates effectively at all points of contact – incoming assignments from clients, process-based communication (workflow, change orders, contact reports, etc.)

  • Participates in account management status meetings

  • Occasional support of account and creative teams in organizing photoshoots (scheduling, gathering client product, props, location and talent management, etc.)

  • Accepts direction and feedback to refine work and meet objectives

  • Other responsibilities, as may be assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS + SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • 2–3 years of experience in an advertising/marketing agency environment (required). This is not an entry-level role. Candidates should have prior experience navigating agency workflow, managing timelines, and supporting integrated campaign execution.

  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities effectively

  • Confident and resourceful, a self-starter that can function with minimal supervision

  • Proven experience taking a lead role in a work project, team, volunteer or school environment

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to multi-task

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of an organization

  • Ability to actively listen, collaborate, and reach win/win solutions

  • Willingness to pitch in on any task, big or small

  • Demonstrates a passion for creativity and a healthy curiosity for the communications business, pertinent product categories, new mediums, etc.

  • Proven ability to be flexible, operate as a team player, and engage positively with others

WORKING CONDITIONS

This is a hybrid position, working primarily at the Kick Office in Northeast Minneapolis. Dependent on scheduling needs for this role, this position may work from a remote location two days per week.

COMPENSATION:

At the time of posting, the base salary for this position ranges from $50,000-65,000. Compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
